Honest, I wasn't expecting it.

It seems like Amazon has been getting really bad about their shipping practices in general, lately. In the past few months, I've had 2 packages shipped to the wrong address, and 2 packages that weren't mine shipped to MY address. I then had to go through the hassle of calling them up, explaining the situation, and taking them to the post office (although they did provide a shipping label so I wouldn't have to pay). I also paid express shipping on an item for Valentines day so it would arrive it time... I ordered 2-day shipping 3 days before the date, and it STILL didn't come on time, GRRRR. I'm almost as fed up with them as you are.
Wow, I've never had those kinds of issues before - I was pretty happy with Amazon until this point - but I've noticed that the bigger and bigger they get the human side of them grows smaller and smaller.
[this is good]
I can understand why they charge for things like that - the reason Amazon's prices are so good in the first place is because they have streamlined every process they can - and dealing with the same item a second time will mean a minute or two of several people's time... and if you add that together - that's where the cost comes from.

It's good to know they zero'd the cost in response to your appeal though.
I can completely understand, it would also minimize the amount of people returning things for no good reasons. I just would have preferred to not return it if I knew that was their policy - and I would have liked their policy explained better to me when I was asking for explanation.
I am surprised the Boy hasn't commented on this yet. He would prob throw you a parade and get you to join his righteous club. :)
Karen on the otherhand worries how she could handle 2 of you.
