Happy home-coming, Maura!!!!

Other than feeding yourself (when in the UK, I just have the fry each morning and eat biscuits and tea in my room at night), sounds to me like you'd prefer staying out of the cities and towns -- or I'm projecting on you because that's what I like :)

I'm happy to hear from your corner of the world and when you're back, well and rested, look forward to POSTS. :)
Welcome Home! Your "miss list" is delightful and I cannot wait to see your pictures and hear the stories of your adventure in Scotland.

Rest well :)
Well I just went outside and I certainly do not smell any gas. Why would you want to eat at 1am? Even with the time diff you should just be more prepared and buy stuff ahead of time. Driving does suck...that is why if you lived here you wouldn't do so much and yeah I tend to stay out of public toilets..the only vaguely safe ones are in supermarkets.
I'm glad to hear you made it home safe and sound! I can't wait to hear (and see) all about your trip! :D

Welcome back! Looking forward to reading the recap. It sounds like it was an overall good experience. I'm glad it worked out for you.

Welcome home!
Welcome home! Can't wait to see the photos and have you tell us all about it! As for the toilet seat covers - we've been spoiled in California. Most of the world (that includes to US) doesn't use them. When my mom and I drove across the US to visit my brother in Indiana it really wigged me out at first that there were very rarely ever seat covers available. It was also really weird when there weren't paper towels, just those rotating cloth towels (I'm sure you ran across those in Scotland. I first saw them in Ireland).
I actually never saw this rotating towel you speak of - now I feel deprived!!! :P
huh, so paper towels the whole way? Those rotating ones gross me out...they're almost always still damp from the previous user and who knows how they've been there, just getting used by a bunch of strangers, sitting there damp, growing things.... O_o
Hehehe "growing things"? You're too funny :P Actually, there was hardly ever any paper towels, most everywhere had those hand dryer fans. One actually had an "express" one and it was like putting my hand under a jet engine!
Well we wouldn't want to waste paper on paper towels OR paper toilet seat covers even if they are made out of recycled paper it's still a waste.
