YOU DAMN DIRTY APES!

The Host is SUCH a good book. I was impressed. I just finished it last night and loved it. I'm hoping for some sequels.
I'm really enjoying it - though I'm finding as I read it I'm reminded of the one thing I don't care for with Stephanie Meyer's writing - the endless pages of argumentative internal monologue. I love dialogue so it's difficult to get through so many pages of "what if" conversations.

BUT! The book is so good I forget about them quickly :)
Sounds like a nice weekend.

I'm a huge fan of "Children of Men", I saw it in the theater twice! It was haunting.
The scene during the uprising where they're leaving the building - and everyone is stopping and staring and simply... adoring what they were seeing - it was really amazing.
Oh yes! One of my favorite scenes. Did you notice that it was filmed without a single cut! That whole 15 minutes, they never stopped filming, up and down the street and building. It's an amazing feat with all of those extras and obstacles.
I'm buying this book tonight... Stephanie Meyers is doing a book signing in Denver and the only way to get IN to the signing is to buy the book... hence why I haven't bought it yet, haha.
We're going to one of her signings this Friday night - I'm excited! I really enjoyed this book, I hope that it doesn't get buried in all the Twilight talk :P
I loved The Host, it was a really good book & I even cried (which I hardly do). I'm glad you got your bed :) although having to argue with customer service doofuses prolly wasn't the highlight of your day I'm betting it's great to have a new one. I love going to the ren fest and last year ours was hotter than all get out. They're fun tho, just a pain when you can't think of anything but cooling off.
I kept getting teary-eyed too while reading it - but I'm going to chalk that off on my menstrual cycle :P
