Social Realists are popular persons full of energy. They are reliable, well organized and helpful. Traditional values are important to them. Founding a family also plays a central role in their life. Social Realists have a marked social streak. They are always ready to listen to the worries and problems of others and spare no effort when they are asked for help. With empathy and understanding, they can sense what other people need. Social Realists are always willing to highly regard the strong points of the other person and to excuse that person’s weaknesses. They are the most sociable of all personality types. Social contacts are very important to them.Social Realists find it very difficult to cope with conflicts and criticism - harmony is their elixir of life. Acknowledgment and esteem are very important to this type. Differentiation on the other hand is not necessarily one of their strong points. At work and in partnerships, they are loyal, committed and always there when needed. They find it easy to make friends due to their open, warm manner and they have a large circle of friends. In love, they are faithful and attentive and care for their partners with a great deal of imagination and sensitivity. Social Realists show their feelings openly and honestly. Should a relationship break up, they tend to blame themselves. That is why they find it very difficult to end a partnership even if it has not fulfilled their requirements for some time.Social Realists are more conservative types. They have a set system of values and rules which is orientated to the prevailing traditions. They prefer clear, structured surroundings and work processes; they find too much change and unrest unpleasant. Their strong points are carefulness and reliability and not so much flexibility and spontaneity. Social Realists are open-minded towards anything new only to a limited extent. But, should one be looking for someone to fulfill a task reliably and exactly, they are the right persons.
Maura, your true color is Brown!
You're brown, a credible, stable color that's reminiscent of fine wood, rich leather, and wistful melancholy. Most likely, you're a logical, practical person ruled more by your head than your heart. With your inquisitive mind and insatiable curiosity, you're probably a great problem solver. And you always gather all of the facts before coming to a timely, informed decision. Easily intrigued, you're constantly finding new ways to challenge your mind, whether it's by reading the newspaper, playing a trivia game, or composing a piece of music. Brown is an impartial, neutral color, which means you tend to see the difference between fact and opinion easily and are open to many points of view. Trustworthy and steady, you really are a brown at heart.

A little bit nice, a little bit naughty. I'm kind, but I show people who's boss around here. Sweet.
As seen on Terri's Vox - her responses made me break my "no resolutions" pact :)
1. What did you do in 2007 that you'd never done before? Got married :) Started collecting dolls.
2. Did you keep your New Year's resolutions and will you make more for next year? I don't think I made any last year. This year though - I'll make at least one: To concentrate on cleaning up my credit and better managing my finances. I'm hoping that my 2009 resolution - buy a house - will be easier because of this years resolution.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth? Why yes! My one and only sister gave birth to my nephew - Ezekiel.
4. Did anyone close to you die? No.
5. What did you get really, really, really excited about? Getting married! Plus we began planning a trip to Scotland in 2008 so that's been really exciting!
6. What would you like to have in 2008 that you lacked in 2007? More friends. I feel like I've lost a lot and though I don't want to "replace" them, I'd like to have more.
7. What date from 2007 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? Probably my wedding. I'd been looking forward to it for six months and it was a great way to start the new year :)
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? Buying a new car - and not getting ripped off in the least. When you buy a new car you read about lemons and paying too much and stuff like that. I knew what I wanted, what I could pay, and I got that and more. Plus I think I made a really great decision in make and model.
9. What was your biggest failure? Falling further into debt (my car is not part of that). Though I've been really aggressive with the payments I've also been putting a lot on them as well.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury? Um, I'm sure I did. I remember my big injury in 2006 - burning my arm foolishly trying to remove my radiator cap when my car was over heating. I thought I was going to be scarred for my wedding and I'm so glad I wasn't.
11. What were the best things you bought? My car. My dolls. A weekend in Los Angeles with my husband for the E for All Expo. Plane tickets to Scotland!
12. Where did most of your money go? Paying old credit card debt & housing.
13. What did you do on vacation? The only vacation I can remember is going to Los Angeles with my husband in October. We went to a gaming convention and also to a great concert. Can't wait for next year!
14. Compared to this time last year, are you:
a. happier or sadder? Happier!
b. thinner or fatter? Fatter!
c. richer or poorer? Richer!
15. What do you wish you'd done more of? Making new connections and building friendships.
16. What do you wish you'd done less of? Worrying about money. Yes, there was need to worry but worrying only does so much for the situation. In the end - the worry did nothing.
17. How will you be spending Christmas? Um - seeing family & enjoying the first real Christmas with my family in five years.
18. Did you fall in love in 2007? Yep :) I fall in love more and more with my husband all the time. I also fell in love with my doll collecting habit.
19. How many one-night stands? None.
20. What was your favorite TV program? Probably a toss-up between Heroes and America's Next Top Model.
21. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year? I don't hate them, I just hate what has happened to our friendship. Its gone and I hate that.
22. What was the best book you read? Probably Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows.
23. What did you want and get? All my dolls! A DS Lite! A Puppy! Lots of love from my husband and family :)
24. What did you want and not get? Less debt. Smaller waistline.
25. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? For my birthday I took a bit of a vacation from work, got some great presents from family, did a bit of home decorating, and went to a comedy club! I turned 24 - 2008 marks the decrease in my car insurance :P
26. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? Making more friends and paying off some debt.
27. What kept you sane? My job - the stability is great. Also my husband and family - they give me a lot of support when I'm going crazy.
28. What political issue stirred you the most? I'm not very political.
29. Who did you miss? My friends who have grown apart from me :( My brother who died in 2002.
30. Who was the best new person you met? I'd have to say I haven't met anyone terribly memorable in 2007 other than... My online friends, here at Vox! I have to give a particular shoutout to Terri, mad-tante, & Princesskasren - though I care for ALL of my neighbors and friends here!
31. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2007: Everything will work out as long as you have your family and friends beside you.
Via mad-tante who stole it herself...
1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? For thought out gifts, paper. For quick and dirty gifts, bags
2. Real tree or artificial? Real - thought next year I might consider a fake one.
3. When do you put up the tree? This year was my first in a long time, we put it up during Thanksgiving weekend.
4. When do you take the tree down? I'll probably want to take it down very quickly - it also depends on my apartment complex though as they have a designated tree pick up date.
5. Do you like eggnog? Hell yeah!
6. Favorite gift received as a child? Um, I can't really say. I gift I remember the most was a MiniDisc player - but I wasn't a "child" when I got it.
7. Do you have a nativity scene? I do! But I haven't put it up yet :(
8. Hardest person to buy for? My parents, because I don't live with them and they're wealthy enough to buy most anything they'd want - plus they never want much to begin with.
9. Easiest person to buy for? My husband.
10. Worst Christmas gift ever received? Not answering this, sorry.

15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? Ham.
16. Clear lights or colored on the tree? Colored.
17. Favorite Christmas song? There are a lot that I like, I can't really pick - sorry!
18. Travel at Christmas or stay at home? I want to stay home.
19. Can you name Santa's reindeer? Nope, not really a fan of Santa.
20. Do you have an angel on top or a star? Angel.
21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? Morning, preferably - however with family and whatnot I might do both.
22. Most annoying thing about this time of year? Mean people who don't remember what Christmas is about, and then take out their anger at the store clerks who don't have a Wii for their spoiled children.
